Novellara is particularly rich from the cultural point of view. Is one of the “gonzaghesche” cities most known and significant where is still visible the historical, artistic and architectural heritage. Novellara is also multicultural, and throughout the ages, citizens from all over the world have naturalized and integrated: from North Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Cina and Est Europe… And here are risen cultural associations, aggregation centers and above all there is one of the biggest Sikh temples of the Europe. But Novellara is also “land of music”, that is a place where there is an important cultural and musical ferment. In fact Novellara is where artist like Jaques de Wert, the Tenor Franco Tagliavini, the Musician Giorgio Tosi, Augusto Daolio, Nomadi, Gianni Morandi, Ridillo, Modena City Ramblers originated or are adopted.
The school of music represented one of the reality most dynamic of the provincial territory and in the last years have given life to important musical experiences, for jazz, percussions and ancient music and, in general, there are many initiatives which emphasize the natural talent of “Novellara-music center”. In addition to the memorable “Nomadincontro-Tributo ad Augusto”, the municipality has just promoted “Roccaforte della cultura”, a great musical-literary exhibition into the “Rocca dei Gonzaga”.
